To keep your project on schedule we have prepared some do’s and don’ts when supplying your artwork / logo. If you need to send a hard copy to be scanned, black and white art is best. We can not accept a fax as a hard copy.
To send your logo or artwork by email or on a disk or CD
The preferred artwork for promotional items is made in illustration programs. Here are the common EPS Files we accept, identified with the software that produces them:
- Illustrator 10 or less (saved as an Illustrator EPS, Mac Format, Fonts converted to outlines).
- Freehand 10 or less (saved as an editable EPS, PC/Mac Format, Fonts converted to paths).
Photo or Resolution Based Formats such as TIFF, bitmap or JPEG are often accepted for printing and sometimes accepted for promotional items. as long as they are 600 dpi or higher and equal to the final imprint size. These files are acceptable in Mac and PC formats:
- PSD Files (Saved at a resolution of 600 or higher)
- Bitmap (Saved at a high resolution, at least 600 dpi)
- Tiff Files (Saved at a high resolution, at least 600 dpi)
- Jpeg Files (Saved at a high resolution, at least 600 dpi, and optimized for quality).
We also have the following programs used for commercial printing. Note that when sending a file generated in one of these programs all Graphics, Images, and Fonts must be included with the file. Compressing the file using WinZip or Stuffit can make files easier to send and receive.
- Indesign (Mac Format)
- Pagemaker 7 (PC/Mac Format).
- QuarkExpress 4 (PC Format).
- Acrobat (Saved as a PDF for print, PC/Mac Format)
We cannot accept MS Word, MS Publisher , Web Graphics or Powerpoint Files. Original art is often placed into publishing programs like Microsoft word, Pagemaker, InDesign and Quark. They cannot be used for promotional items. We cannot accept low resolution files taken from the Web or use files from Powerpoint to print.
We Must have a hard copy of your emailed artwork to proof electronic artwork. The hard copy can be faxed at your convenience, mailed or delivered in person to our office during normal business hours.
If needed we can always recreate your logo at a nominal fee of $45.00 per hour. Once created, or once you provide a proper working logo, we will keep it on file and you will no longer have to worry about it again.
